The Biggest Mistake of My Life
If I’m going to be straight with you — and that’s the only way I know how to be — the biggest mistake of my life was trying to fit in. I gave up what I really believed, and still believe, just to blend in with the crowd. It cost me more than I can put into words. But here’s the other side of that story, and it’s the whole reason this site exists: from the ashes, there can be beauty. God took the wreckage of my choices and made something good out of it. I know, because He did it with me.
The Sword and the Dream
Before I gave my life to Christ, I was deep into martial arts. I trained in iaido — the Japanese sword — and aikido, and I’ll be honest with you: I was a natural at it. It was my identity. Then God gave me a powerful dream, and everything changed. When I came to Him, He made me lay it all down. I walked away from the sword and the mat, and I never went back. Some things you don’t negotiate with God — you just obey.
How These Books Are Written
Latter Rain Ministry Press is the publishing imprint of The Latter Rain Ministry, in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The books come from the same hands that build everything else you’ll find under the Junker name — and they’re built the same way: measure twice, cut once, and show your work.
Every book from this press is an audit, not a sermon. That word is chosen carefully. An audit doesn’t start with the verdict and go hunting for support. It opens the books — all of them — and follows the evidence where it leads.
That means a few things you can hold us to:
The strongest case comes first — for every side. Before any position in these books is answered, it is presented at its best, in its strongest form, from its own best sources. If a claim can’t survive being stated fairly, it doesn’t get rescued by being stated weakly.
Scripture is quoted exactly, and read in context. Every quotation is from the King James Version, letter for letter as written. Where the oldest Hebrew, Greek, or Aramaic witnesses differ from the familiar reading, the difference is put on the page and dealt with honestly — never smoothed over, never hidden. And no verse is asked to carry weight outside the passage it lives in: who is speaking, who is being addressed, and what problem is on the table all travel with the quote.
Every conclusion carries its rating. Findings are labeled in plain sight — certain, strong, disputed, beyond the evidence — and each rating says what it is a rating of. Where the evidence runs out, the book says so, and the question is left open on the page rather than closed by enthusiasm.
No hype. Claims that circulate for excitement — the kind that spread because they’re thrilling, not because they’re checkable — are tested against solid, provable sources, and the ones that fail are excluded, however popular they are. What survives is what can be verified.
The author is Brother Michael Junker — craftsman, merchandiser, and student of the Word for many years, whose skepticism about easy answers predates his faith by about twenty years. He writes the way he was taught to work with his hands: truth stands in both directions, and a thing built honestly doesn’t fear inspection.
Soli Deo gloria — and check our work. That’s the point of an audit.
